The Brick Rebel Kids Presents -Lego City 60080 Spaceport

Our build for mid-week comes from the Brick Rebel Kids, and this one was a tough one for Padawan AJ.  Coming from a box that was almost as big as he was we present set 60080 Lego City Spaceport!

Here is an impression from Padawan AJ:

"Well I really like how the Shuttle stands on the cool shuttle launcher thing.  Of all the things about the spaceport that I like, I like the space shuttle itself the most.  For my age it was a bit tough to build and my Dad helped me a bit.  I really do love all of the set though!

I really like the two astronauts that came with it, especially the helmets.  I am hoping to see a giant version of my shuttle because we are going to Lego Land in San Diego!  This is definitely not for younger kids as the build wasn't something I could not do completely on my own. "

Here is the blurb on the set from Lego.com:

Launch the awesome shuttle from LEGO City Spaceport!

It’s launch day at the LEGO® City Spaceport. Load the satellite into the space shuttle and use the powerful, mobile launchpad to slowly maneuver it to the launch site. Then deliver the astronauts with the service vehicle and get strapped in as countdown commences, 3… 2… 1… liftoff! Feel the power as the main engines ignite and send the shuttle hurtling into space. Eject the external fuel tank and rocket boosters and then open the cargo bay doors ready to launch the satellite! It’s another successful mission for the LEGO City Spaceport! The Brick Rebels Presents -Lego Star Wars 75136 Droid Escape Pod

Our next Brick Rebels speed build is LIVE and our first Star Wars set in a while!  We introduce to you set 75136 Lego Star Wars Droid Escape Pod.  A great set from A New Hope allowing people to setup the iconic scene where C-3PO and R2-D2 crash land on Tatooine.

Here is an impression from Brickmaster Robeyone:

"This set is extremely cool, and a great set for any fan of either Lego Star Wars or Star Wars in general.  The set is a very straight forward build, with nothing too challenging.  However afterwards it allows for some great little setups to help depict this iconic scene from the original Star Wars.  There are some liberties with this set, which I found strange though, like the inclusion of actual Death Star plans that are separate of R2-D2.  All that aside, I give it four out of five bricks for the design and the minifigures though. "

Here is the blurb on the set from Lego.com:

Help the droids escape with the Death Star plans!

C-3PO and R2-D2 are in danger and they need your help to escape! Load them into the Droid Escape Pod, close the hatches and launch to safety. After landing on the nearest planet, can you keep them safe from the Jawas with their ion blasters? That's for you to decide.

Features:

• Includes 3 minifigures: C-3PO and 2 Jawas, plus an R2-D2 Astromech Droid.
• Features opening hatches, large engines at the back and a detailed interior with space for 2 characters and a display showing the top-secret Death Star plans.
• Includes 2 Jawa ion blasters.
• Recreate the unforgettable opening scenes from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
• Measures over 2” (7cm) high, 5” (14cm) long and 2” (6cm) wide with hatches closed, and over 5” (13cm) wide when open.

Our next Brick Rebels speed build is LIVE! The largest set of the NEXO Knights Nemesis Jestro, we introduce this behemoth vehicle to our collection.  Come check out 70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile.

Here is an impression from Brickmaster Robeyone:

"This set surprised me, as it seemed pretty straight forward when I took a look at the box and started building.  However, this set has a lot of really cool features and really oozes the creativity that I have come to expect from Lego.  From the mouth opening and closing as the wheels spin to the skull sitting in the cage, this is a great set to a great new IP like NEXO Knights.  The more of these sets I build, the more myself and all of the kids here at Lego Rebels have been getting into the NEXO Knights series."

The Brick Rebels Present - Lego NEXO Knights set 70311 Chaos Catapult Speedbuild and Impressions

Our next Brick Rebels speed build is LIVE!  It's small set but a good set none the less. Introducing Lego NEXO Knights set 70311 Chaos Catapult!

Here is an impression from Brickmaster Robeyone:

" This was a neat little build, clocking in at a little over 15 minutes to knock out, it wasn't particularly challenging at all.  Great set for a starter Master Builder for sure! The coolest detail (outside of the catapult itself) is the seating area for the minifigure.  The minifigure actually sits in the jaws in the front, and the teeth move up and down to let the minifgure in or out.  Lots of cool little details here that makes this a fun set to both build and play. If a little one is playing with it though, beware the eyes it can shoot quite far."

Here is the blurb on the set from Lego.com:

Hurl lava rocks at the Royal Guard with the Chaos Catapult!

Open wide! Speed the terrifying Chaos Catapult—packed with a full set of monster teeth— towards the Royal Guard! Fire the crossbow at him from the vehicle, or launch lava rocks from the catapult. Enter the kingdom of Knighton, and the epic LEGO® NEXO KNIGHTS™ world, with the fearsome Chaos Catapult!
